This Monday, August 17, Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) marks National Nonprofit Day by turning the spotlight on organizations working every day to strengthen our communities – and giving our employees a direct hand in supporting them.
Through the UTRS Charitable Fund, we’re launching a special fundraiser that combines employee voice with corporate giving. UTRS is inviting all employees to review a curated list of four nonprofits and vote for the organization they’d most like to see supported. We’ll then make a donation to the nonprofit that receives the most votes.
For employees who wish to take it a step further, we’re offering a donation match: any employee gift made to the UTRS Charitable Fund and designated to any of this year’s four featured nonprofits will be matched by UTRS, doubling the impact of every contribution. These matched donations supersede our donation to the top vote-getter, giving the fundraiser the potential to benefit multiple organizations at once.

This initiative reflects a core piece of our corporate social responsibility philosophy: Community Support. Through the UTRS Charitable Fund, we donate a portion of our profits each year to causes that align with our values and the communities and industries we serve. UTRS treats this approach as central to our strategic planning, not as an afterthought.
Every vote and every donation makes a real difference for the nonprofits doing this important work. We’re proud to give our employees a direct voice in where our giving goes because together we can create a meaningful impact for the communities we serve.

All of these nonprofits are winners, but we’ll update this post to announce which of the four gained the most votes for this year’s UTRS celebration of National Nonprofit Day.
