A Quarter Century UTRS Tradition Continues

On May 29, 2026, employees from across UTRS gathered once again at the Meadowlands Racetrack for one of the company’s most anticipated annual gatherings: UTRS’s Night at the Races.

For more than a quarter century, UTRS employees have come together each spring for an evening that reflects something important about the company itself: that our enduring technical excellence is built by people with very different areas of professional expertise who know and rely on one another, enjoy working together, and value the relationships behind the mission.

What began decades ago as an employee appreciation outing has evolved into an event more like an annual family reunion where colleagues supporting the Army and Department of Defense at Picatinny Arsenal are joined by teammates from across the UTRS family including Civil & Environmental Engineering (UTRS CEE), Advanced Manufacturing (UTRS AM), and our Corporate Headquarters. Around shared tables of food, drink, and friendly wagers on harness races, employees reconnected with familiar faces and built new connections across divisions.

The evening blended customs with personality as some attendees embraced the classic equestrian tradition of dressing to the nines. They and others made their way trackside for the perennial opportunity to capture memories alongside the evening’s winning horses, sulkies, and drivers.

More than just a social event, Night at the Races reflects the enduring culture of UTRS. It speaks to the long-standing identity and traditions that have developed over the past four decades. Most importantly, it is one of many such get-togethers throughout the calendar year that reinforce the genuine family feeling and shared mission that unites our diverse divisions into a single, dedicated team.
