UTRS Staff Support Local Conservation

On May 6, 2026, corporate employees at UTRS spent the morning volunteering with The Watershed Institute in Pennington, New Jersey, supporting habitat improvement efforts on the Watershed Reserve. Working alongside the organization’s conservation and sustainability team, volunteers assisted with a variety of outdoor stewardship projects, including maintaining protective tree materials, removing invasive plant species, clearing old planting debris, maintaining deer fencing, and helping care for previously planted native saplings along one of their boardwalk trails.

Despite rainy weather, the team made a meaningful impact. Following the event, The Watershed Institute shared positive feedback about the UTRS group’s energy, teamwork, and strong work ethic, noting the team’s willingness to “jump in wherever needed” until the work was complete.

The work completed during the volunteer day directly supported The Watershed Institute’s mission to keep water clean, safe, and healthy by protecting and restoring the natural environment through conservation, science, advocacy, and education. The volunteer day provided employees with an opportunity to spend some quality time outdoors together while directly supporting environmental conservation efforts in the local community.
