UTRS Announces Award as 2009 SBA Regional Prime Contractor of the Year (Region II)

Cherry Hill, N.J., June 1, 2009—Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) today announced receipt of an award as 2009 Regional Prime Contractor of the Year for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Region II. Gerald Wright, CEO, made the announcement.

"UTRS is humbled to have even been nominated for an award by the U.S. Army Joint Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle Management Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. Our receipt of this prestigious award speaks volumes for the commitment our employees have made to provide the highest level of service to our customers on a variety of technology initiatives—from support of our Warfighters to aviation safety," said Wright.

Albert Zalcmann, President, remarked, "We are proud and honored to provide support to our nation's Warfighters. For more than ten years, we have supported mission-critical operations at Picatinny Arsenal. We currently support every ARDEC Directorate, as well as PEO Ammo and PEO Soldier, with a recent focus on rapid prototyping and production of mission-critical systems such as mine roller attachments, objective gunner protection kits, cupola shields, and strategic metals and manufacturing initiatives. Many of these initiatives have been documented to save soldiers' lives, which is our most gratifying accomplishment."

Further, UTRS also has a long history of providing critical support to Naval Air Warfare Center - Lakehurst across a variety of platforms, as well as the Air Force Safety Center and the Federal Aviation Administration in flight safety technology, and the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer. In addition, UTRS designs, engineers, installs, and tests cathodic protection systems for pipelines and rail systems throughout the United States.
