UTRS Awarded Multi-year Contract for Phase 1 of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project

Cherry Hill, N.J., November 23, 2009—Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) was recently awarded a multi-year contract from Dulles Transit Partners, LLC to continue providing cathodic protection engineering and installation services on the Phase I Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project in Virginia. Phase 1 of the rail project will run from East Falls Church to Wiehle Avenue on the eastern edge of Reston, VA. The metrorail will include five stations: four in Tysons Corner—Tysons East, Tysons Central 123, Tysons Central 7 and Tysons West and one in Wiehle Avenue.

"Our engineers are experienced and certified to perform all aspects of stray current control engineering and installation. UTRS will be installing electrical continuity components, as well as cathodic protection systems, to protect this important extension to the Metro," said Ed Wetzel, Director of Corrosion Control Services.

The expansion of the Dulles Metrorail is a central part of an integrated solution that will help foster an environment to bring in new businesses and employment for area residents.
