"The acquisition of RKR continues our growth strategy. UTRS's diverse service offerings did not include traditional civil engineering services, and RKR has built a reputation of integrity and delivery of the highest caliber of services to its clients since its formation in the 1920s. RKR specializes in all aspects of civil engineering, environmental engineering, surveying, and wetland surveys. We look forward to serving RKR's current customers and adding new customers for this new division, which will be known as RKR Hess, a division of UTRS," stated Snyderman. The addition of RKR's expertise in civil and environmental engineering further solidifies UTRS as a full-service provider of engineering services, and brings a new skill set to its cadre of engineering and technical professionals.

On September 28, 2012, UTRS consummated a transaction to purchase all assets of RKR and retained its entire staff. Sam D'Alessandro, President and sole owner of RKR, will assume the role of Director of Civil Engineering for UTRS. "By joining UTRS, we are strengthening our foundation with access to a large-scale infrastructure to aid in our growth projections. I am excited to have found a company like UTRS to purchase RKR, which displays similar principles of integrity, high-quality service, and commitment to its employees. I believe we will see growth in our core business lines once we are folded under the UTRS banner."
